Kathy Schrock is an amazing Administrator for Technology. Schrock has dedicated her life to purify technology and to provide accurate endless fountain of information for teachers and Students. She has many links to certified credentials web site that we as a techer must use. From rubrics to internet safety softwares, professional development, fun activities, science fair, and more that we can certainly use as a part of classrrom management. Her blogs are open window to what is out ther in the Web Wide World. She has travel around the US and around the world speaking about technology and its potential to bring world to our students by liking the most realiable existing database.
Internet is one of the most powerful tool of information available in our fingertips. It is amazing how much material students, teachers or even parents can obtain in a few minutes. This new era of technology has make our trip to library, in many cases, unnecessary. Internet also is a tool use by parents, in some cases, as a babysitter or entertainment. Teachers, parents and students, also use Internet to back up thier researches and/or learning material. However, we must be carefull with the material that we obtain from Internet. There are many documents that are nor relaible on the Web that can confuse or mislead a topic.
Fortunatelly, we have also some great resources put together by Professional in education, Universities, and Education Programs that can vertify the autencity our information of interest. I am so grateful that we, as teacher have the opportunity to have those type of program for which we can relay on it and verify the information that we using in classroom.
It is our duty to educate our students and thier parents about the REAL WORLD of Internet. There many websites that have been contaminate with child pornography, sex offender that their mission is to harm our children. If we work as team for a clean and safety education, we can protect our children of those people whom do not respect the rights of our children.
My Mission as a teacher is to educate my students with the best material avialable in the world at the moment. I will make sure to teach them how to use Internet on a safety way!
